2nd Blogiversary

Another year older; The Introverted Chilli has transformed so there’s means to celebrate, with tea, cake, friends and more cake.

I recently ordered some dried edible flowers from Jan at Maddocks Farm, the tins are packed with little petals that I’ve been garnishing various dishes, sweet and savoury with.  Inspired by the lovely Bee’s Bakery’s  petal confetti cakes I thought I’d have a stab at my own, with a pink layer cake.  I also baked some cupcakes topped with the little red cornflowers.

This weekend also marks the end of my sugar departure, so naturally everything on offer was sweet!  Keeping with the pinky pastel theme I made some cranberry and white chocolate cookies, marshmallow krispie pops and rum truffles.

Now I don’t have any formal experience in flower arranging, but sweeping the supermarkets of all their cut flowers I’m pretty chuffed with the result.  Trying not to gender stereotype when I say this but people (men) who say flowers are a waste of money are wrong in my opinion.  They make the room complete, around food and on it!
